Brunswick Psychiatrist Receives Lifetime Achievement Award

 

Psychiatrist David A. Moltz, MD, DLFAPA, has been awarded the Dr. Ulrich B. Jacobsohn Lifetime Achievement Award for his “extraordinary and tireless efforts” on behalf of those with psychiatric disorders. Dr. Moltz is Unit Chief of Outpatient Behavioral Health at Mid Coast Hospital. The presentation was made at the April 28, 2012 Annual Membership Meeting of the Maine Association of Psychiatric Physicians.

Dr. Moltz received this prestigious award for “providing and advocating excellent treatment for Maine citizens with psychiatric disorders.” He has been practicing psychiatry for 35 years, 22 of which have been in Maine.  

Mid Coast Hospital’s Outpatient Behavioral Health department includes the Addition Resource Center (ARC).

I know, you think the bubbling action is awesome and proof that it's doing what it was meant to do — killing all the bad stuff. Well, here's what wound care specialist Dr. Walter Keller has to say about hydrogen peroxide. "The hydrogen peroxide bubbling releases pure oxygen, which kills bacteria but also the healthy cells, slowing down wound healing." The Maine Tobacco-Free Hospital Network, in collaboration with the Partnership For A Tobacco-Free Maine, held an awards celebration at the Maine Hospital Association on March 21st to recognize hospitals for taking steps to create tobacco-free hospital environments and supporting tobacco-free lifestyles for patients, staff and the community. The annual Gold Star Standards of Excellence awards program celebration highlighted the efforts of 29 Maine hospitals and 6 hospital champions. Among this year’s honorees was Mid Coast Hospital, receiving a silver level award.
