Valley Arts Alliance Displays Spring Artwork at Sebasticook Valley Health

Valley Arts Alliance Displays Spring Artwork at Sebasticook Valley Health

Members of the Valley Arts Alliance installed the second exhibit in a series of four installations at Sebasticook Valley Health (SVH) in Pittsfield. SVH and Valley Arts Alliance are partnering to provide a rotating exhibit for the enjoyment of staff, visitors and patients alike. The exhibits will feature works by various Arts Alliance artists throughout the year, with the theme of “Seasons.”

SVH President/CEO and EMHS Senior Vice-President Terri Vieira commented, “SVH is honored to offer an opportunity for the local artists to showcase original artwork. These beautiful prints and paintings bring local colors and images to our community hospital.  Patients, visitors, and staff will enjoy the new displays as much as I have.”

The works, by local artists Jeanne Finley, Terri DeNatale and Linda Miller, are spring images of flora and fauna. The artwork will be on display through mid-June when the exhibit will transition to summer-themed artwork.

42nd Annual Central Maine Egg Festival in Pittsfield, Maine

The Central Maine Egg Festival Committee and the Town of Pittsfield are pleased to welcome our many guests to the 42nd Annual Central Maine Egg Festival from Monday, July 14 - Saturday, July 19, 2014.  Our theme this year is "EGG"wareness - "Support Your Favorite Cause".

The Town of Pittsfield is home to the Egg Festival.  A quiet industrial community of less than 5,000 people, Pittsfield welcomes more than 35,000 visitors each July.  A large Street Dance, Egglympics, Window Painting, Art Show and Craft Fair are just a few of the scheduled events during the week leading up to the Big Day - Saturday, July 19 - which features The Big Parade, Kiwanis Karnival with its rides and booths, and Fireworks.  It is the event of the year in Pittsfield and the region.

Founded in 1973, the Egg Festival was designed to celebrate the egg industry in Central Maine and complement the already popular Kiwanis Karnival.
