DRHS Key Club sponsors Recycles Week Jan. 24-29

Dexter High School Key Club will be sponsoring a Recycles Week at Dexter Regional High School Jan. 24-29. Key Club members will promote recycling education and will be set up in the lobby each morning to collect computer ink cartridges, old cell phones and aluminum can tabs for Shriner Hospitals.
The collected items are recycled for cash, and 100 percent of the money raised goes to charities such as Shriner Hospitals, Camp Sunshine, the Kiwanis Pediatric Trauma Institute at Children's Floating Hospital at Tuft's Medical Center and Children of Peace International (COPI).
The Key Club will also be set up at the Mid-Maine Solid Waste transfer station on Saturday morning Jan. 29 from 9 a.m. - noon to collect used ink cartridges, old cell phones and can tabs for Shriner Hospitals.

This year the SACC Annual Dinner will be spiced up a bit, as the SACC and Lakewood Theater has teamed up to bring to you the SACC Annual Dinner / Dinner Theater. The lakewood Theater will be perfoming a special musical comedy called Laffertys Wake. At Intermission the awards for: Small Business of the year Large Business of the year Volunteer of the year and The Alton W. Whittermore Award will be handed out. The Dinner and show will take place at T&B's Celebration Center on RTE. 201 North / Madison Avenue in Skowhegan.

This month's Maine Tweetup will be upstairs at Rivalries starting at 6pm on Thursday, 1/27/2011.

Tweetups are real live networking events for people using Twitter, the popular social media platform where users post short messages via their computer or mobile device.

Mainers on Twitter form a vibrant community, sharing their passion on everything from technology to cooking to sports to best methods to kill zombies.

Unity College to Host Maine’s Largest Environmental Career Fair on February 9

Unity, Maine – January 7, 2011 –  Environmental career employers from across the United States will connect with job seekers at the Unity College Environmental Career Fair 2011 on Wednesday, February 9 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Unity College Gymnasium.
     The environmental career recruitment event is open to the general public, though focused on recruitment of recent or anticipated college graduates from across New England.  Sponsored by the Unity College Career Resource Center, the event is expected over 60 employers.
    “We are very pleased with the recruiter response to this environmental career fair,” noted Nicole Collins ’00, Unity College Career Consultant & Internship Coordinator. “This will be an opportunity for individuals to explore career options, seek professional advice and secure positions for employment.
