IX Theories Benefit Show in Memory of Richard A Pepin II

The band IX Theories will be playing a benefit show for the Richard A.Pepin II momorial fund.The benefit will be held from 9:00pm to 12:30am.Their will be a chinese auction,a door prize, and a 50/50 raffle. $5 minimum donation to get in. 21 and up. Help us make it a great evening for a great cause!

Annual Maine History Day Competition to Commence in Augusta

250 students will compete for the opportunity to travel to the
National Competition in Maryland

AUGUSTA – On Wednesday, March 23 the University of Maine at Augusta (UMA) will host 250 students from across the state as they take part in Maine History Day, an annual educational competition for all Maine students in grades 6 through 12.  An award ceremony will be held at 2:00 pm in Jewett Hall at UMA.

Maine History Day is part of a nationwide program involving all 50 states and the District of Columbia.  Maine State winners may take part in the national competition at the University of Maryland in June.

Maine Community Colleges to Honor Scholars

AUGUSTA, ME - Fourteen Maine community college students will be named to the All-Maine Academic Team for two-year colleges at a ceremony on Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at 10:30 a.m., at the Senator Inn in Augusta.
The event will be hosted by the Maine Community College System Board of Trustees.
 
The students receiving the award and a $500 scholarship are:

Maine Grain Alliance Announces Kneading Conference 2011

Registration is now open for the fifth annual Kneading Conference to be held at the Skowhegan State Fairgrounds on July 28th and 29th. Nationally known culinary and agricultural experts will present a mixture of hands-on demonstrations, lectures, and panel discussions covering artisan baking, grain farming and milling, earth and brick oven construction, and baking techniques using wood-fired ovens.
