SVH Announces New Specialty Physician

Sebasticook Valley Health (SVH) President and CEO/EMHS Senior Vice President Terri Vieira announced that area gastroenterologist Phil Amidon, MD, FACP, FACG has joined SVH Specialty Physicians as a liver and digestive diseases physician providing consultations, endoscopic procedures, and colonoscopies to patients.

“We are pleased to welcome back Dr. Amidon, who treated SVH patients from 2006 to 2008” stated Ms. Vieira. “Dr. Amidon returns with expertise and much-needed services for our patients with IBS, GERD, and other conditions of the digestive system.”

Dr. Amidon is a graduate of the University of Vermont College of Medicine, and he completed both his internship and residency at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He received his fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at Loma Linda University Medical Center in California and is a fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology and board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology.

At SVH, Dr. Amidon diagnoses and treats patients suffering from diseases and complications of the gastrointestinal tract, conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome, gastroesophageal reflux disease, and liver conditions. He is currently welcoming new patients.
