WLBZ 2 presents Gannett Foundation grants to local non-profits

WLBZ 2 presented Community Action Grants to four non-profit organizations today.  Community Action Grants are provided by the Gannett Foundation.

WLBZ 2 President and General Manager Judy Horan shared the grants with the United Way of Eastern Maine, Spruce Run Association operating in Penobscot County, Pine Tree Hospice serving Piscataquis County as well as parts of Somerset and Penobscot Counties and the House in the Woods Military and Family Retreat, located in Lee, Maine, but benefitting service people around the state and the nation.

The United Way of Eastern Maine serves nearly the same counties WLBZ 2 does:  Penobscot, Hancock, Washington, Waldo and Piscataquis counties.  Their mission is to mobilize the caring power of people and communities to the health and well being of eastern Maine by make lasting solutions in the lives of individuals, families and seniors.
