Main Street Skowhegan- www.mainstreetskowhegan.org is planning a week-long Maple Festival featuring local products and showcasing downtown businesses. It starts March 18 and ends March 27, which is Maine Maple Sunday. Attached is a list of the events being held throughout Maplefest. Fatal crash shuts down I-95 southbound in Etna

ETNA, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- State police say a woman was killed when the car she was driving slammed into a service vehicle parked on the side of Interstate 95 in Etna.

The crash happened Monday around 10:45am on the southbound side.

Maine State Trooper Trevor Snow said the woman was killed instantly. The driver of the service truck was out of his vehicle assisting the operator of a tractor-trailer, which had broken down. The two men did not see the crash, but they did hear the impact.

Both southbound lanes of I-95 were shut down. The road was reopened around 2:30pm.

 

 

 

 

The woman's identity is not being released pending notification of her family. She is from out of state.
